Paper Baskets
If you wish to buy something unique and at the same time, think of environment and recycling, no better than the solid, tough and long-lasting paper baskets.
These paper baskets are quite difficult to create. First you need to create the paper tubes/rods. Typically, daily newspaper is used to create these rods. Then those are woven together and generally, the usage of glue is avoided to insert one end of the rod in another. The basket then comes alive only when the same is woven quite tight so that it remains firm.
However, the final step is quite important when these are painted using fabric colours. Well, this is also a tricky part because you are colouring on a paper which naturally absorbs it. Hence, not too much but too less is the formula while using the colour.
The colour helps to make it further strong as well as water resistant to a certain extent, though we do not recommend water being used for cleaning these baskets. Wet cloth would be fine.
